Apology Unacceptable

Am I the only person that apologizes even when I didn't do anything wrong? Today I walked around the corner into a solid looking angry woman who grunted when we met. I said "Ooo...Excuse me." She said, "Uh-huh."

As I was walking away I thought "Why did I excuse myself? She was on my side of the hallway."

I just read your post about the J-Crew dress. I checked out their wedding dress options and I love them! It actually makes me feel like I could deal with wedding ... someday. :-) Which one did you go with?

Also, you are totally right about the apology!

I apologize all the time over nothing.

I have mixed feelings about it, because on the one hand, why should I have to? (like in your example, sounds like that woman was just being flat out rude...)

But, on the other hand, what does it hurt? I read an article recently (wish I had paid attention to where it was...) that was talking about politeness and going out of your way to be nice to people and how it changed the author's life in such a positive way, it went from being a small experiment to something she integrated as part of her life, because she found she liked the results so much...

Not that you're impolite. :D

p.s. You just gave me inspiration for a post of my own...
